COLLABORATORS

Kim Sheridan – Artisan & Jewelry Designer

Invoking the name of a small patch of woods at the southern end of the village of Round Lake, artisan Kim Sheridan could not have chosen a better moniker for her jewelry company The Quiet Woods.

Kim’s designs are elegant and delicate, bringing to mind leaves gently hanging to a branch and dancing in the wind, life giving seed pods and delicate geological formations that have stories to tell in their textures and form.

Kim contact me to help tell the story of The Quiet Woods. She was looking for some product photography for some of her new and classic designs as well as vignettes from her quaint studio while working on her pieces.

The resulting images are what we created together, a mix of intimate product shots on found wood from the physical Quiet Woods, product images on both Kim and a model to visualize how the images beautiful drape and hang on the figure, and gentle images of her space and at work.

Capturing the essence of the Quiet Woods was essential to not only her overall brand, but the delicate nature of her jewelry.

Editing these images with a slightly warm and vintage tone aided in invoking the warmth of her pieces, matched with her overall branding and helped to craft a “feeling” to the overall story told in through the imagery.

Kim utilized these images for her website, social media outreach as well as printed promotional materials.

Ensuring that I captured intimate details from her studio, such as mood boards and design drawings, helped to tie the story of The Quiet Woods together – to show her work from conception to final product, as well as the care she instilled in the creation of each piece.

Collaborating with Kim was an absolute pleasure. Although at this time Kim has moved on from jewelry design and is pursuing new artistic avenues with her ancestry project The Sanchez Project, the images that we crafted together from this time in her career stand as a timeless memorial to the beautiful handcrafted work that she devoted to The Quiet Woods.
